If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat. my logs are from 3 months ago
it doesn't write new logs
im adding it as an exception then TURNING ON protection then reinstalling it then checking whats up
yeah that did nothing
no logs folder
You are on platform: "Windows_NT" arch: "x86_64"
Logging to C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/tModLoader/tModLoader-Logs/Launch.log
is what it says in the black window now
what the log says: "Logging to C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/tModLoader/tModLoader-Logs/Launch.log"
Have you tried to launch tModLoader with the
start-tModLoader.bat file?is this version what i need? or lower? i cant find a wich version i need for this tModLoader please help

Looks like you are running into a bug on the preview version of tModLoader (preview-v2024.X). You likely didn't intend to be on the beta/development version of tModLoader. Many mods won't work on preview. To switch to normal stable 1.4.4 tModLoader, close the game, right click on tModLoader in Steam, click properties, then betas, then select None in the dropdown. Steam will now download the files. You'll need to copy over players and worlds you want to keep from the preview save folder as well.
This video shows the same thing: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/242228770855976960/1149417806312521930/Switch_Steam_Beta_Branch_Back_to_None.mp4
no ive only done it using steam
let me try
yeah dont work
i had to edit in snapchat to speed up the video so it is small enough to send and partially bc i cant screen record and also screen record the video i edited on snap on my phone so i can send bc it said ‘file cant be empty’ when i tried to send earlier on my phone
nvm appparently snap didnt edit shit
it doesnr make new logs for launch even
@O_CroW btw this is my thread and not an official general thread for problems
so ye still need help and nobody of the 5 people i asked here has solutions
uninstall reinstall doesnt work
launching through either batch doesnt work
it doesnt deploy into terraria
like through files
Try this:
Tag: powershelllaunch
A last resort is to launch the game manually in PowerShell.
1. Go to the tModLoader install directory. Hold shift and right click in the folder. Click "Open PowerShell window here".
2. Type
dotnet tModLoader.dll and press enter.
If the game did not launch, you likely have an issue with .NET; You can try installing the .NET 8 SDK from here https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/8.0. Select Windows x64 and run the installer. After you have installed the .NET 8 SDK, you will need to delete your dotnet folder in the tModLoader install directory.Actually try deleting the dotnet folder first and launching the game.
it has nothing in it bc i had to make it manually
what fo i need to do like
logs and dotnet folders just didnt exist when i redownload the game and it could be on some cloud syncing shit but idk
Ill try this
i forget how but the one time i did get all the files recently and it gave me my old logs back but like it only wrote one new one and it was that ‘i launched’ and thats the log u see from 9/3
then i hninstall reinstall bc it still aint launching atp and then the files just gone again
so do i like try to get the files back again and then use the powershell thing u talking bout or
"The command could not be loaded, possibly because:

@Rijam what do you think about this
i do have tModLoader.dll in my tmodloader files but not any files in the dotnet folder
ima try to verify my files right quick
yeah that didnt fix it
i forget what did tbh
but when i verify files it doesn't fix my log files or my dotnet files idk why tbh
are there any launch options i can use through steam or
Try installing .NET 8.0 SDK
Microsoft
Download .NET 8.0 (Linux, macOS, and Windows) | .NET
.NET 8.0 downloads for Linux, macOS, and Windows. .NET is a free, cross-platform, open-source developer platform for building many different types of applications.
Windows x64 is what you want
yeah i've had that already for a year
opened it up and repaired my installation but idk what thats supposed to do LOL
still get the same message
Did you open Powershell in the tModLoader folder?
It should have the path of the tModLoader folder shown before you type anything.
?
In what way did you open powershell? Did you search for it and open it that way or did you follow step 1 of the message above?
i right clicked the windows symbol in the bottom left of my pc interface
isnt that the only way you can open it
No, read the message from the bot again.
if i search 'powershell' in the folders i don't find anything
Don't search anything.
idk what an install directory is
In the tModLoader folder, hold shift and right click in the empty space.
when i right click tModLoader on steam it says forward or print
?
Then click open PowerShell window here.
Same place as the video here
The place where the game is installed in aka the folder.
it's saying what I said
Does it have the path to the tModLoader folder when you open Powershell?
tModLoader v2025.7.3.0 Error
