Error when uploading images, and images won't display on my personal private wiki.
Hi. For some reason, after WikiOasis went down due to the site migration, the images won't display at all. I tried reuploading them, but I get an error. I also tried uploading new files but I still get an error. I tried waiting a few days, purging cache, and also cleared cookies for this site, but none of them seem to work.
Is there any way to fix this issue?

Oh, by the way, I have screenshots for this error but I can't upload it here for some reason.

Wiki dbname?
wyndwiki
For some reason, when I tried to post the same message with the screenshots of the errors, I was falsely timed-out by the bot
The wiki's name is Cirruspedia (formerly Wyndipedia) for your reference
I'll take a look at it
first I need to rebuild the localisation caches because for some reason they are dodgy
For some reason your wiki's images aren't on either of the servers so I'll restore them from a backup assuming they are in the backup once I ask the person who manages backups where there are
@Cirrus did your wiki change dbname at some point?
All I did was rename my wiki from Wyndipedia to Cirruspedia. But the url remained the same since its creation.
yeah I'm not sure why I can't find any snapshots including your wiki's images
@Foxy can you take a look
At the backups?
Orr
yes
working on it
Any updates regarding this?
Actually, I want to ask something else while waiting. Does this issue only happen in my private wiki? How are the images like in other private wikis?
I can't actually find the images anywhere
I've checked every backup and they don't seem to exist
Oh, that's a shame
I wonder if I can just restart my entire wiki?
Like delete the current one and re-request it?
if I still have the tar gz of the migration I'll take a look at it
I have at least made backups of the wiki's content
yeah I can do that if you want
Though you didn't answer yet if the images on other private wikis work while mine doesn't
no it's a case of the images have been lost from the directory somehow
and I can't find them anywhere eles
eventually when funds allow I plan to move file storage to s3 (or garage in house) to prevent issues like this but for now I can't
Alright. Thanks for clarifying.
Feel free to delete my wiki. I'll re-request its creation later.
ok cool
deleted
Seems that recreating the wiki did not solve the error
I tried temporarily setting the wiki to public, and there seems to be no problem when uploading images
Then when I set it back to private, the problem perssists
So it might be that private wikis might not have dependecies for a local image repository?
For instance, whenever I try to upload something, I get an error that says "
Could not open lock file for "mwstore://local-backend/local-public/7/7f/Voltaicia_Flag.png". Make sure your upload directory is configured correctly and your web server has permission to write to that directory. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:$wgUploadDirectory for more information."that's different iirc
Though it still doesn't change the fact that I couldn't upload images on my private wiki unless I change it to public all the time. It's a hassle when you think about it.
it’s fixed
and eventually I’ll make a change to file storage that sorts it out for good
Unfortunately I still see a message that says "Error creating thumbnail: File missing". At least on my end.
I’ll take a look later
should be fixing
I found the issue
