tModLoader unplayable slow lag

Hello, I have lots of mods installed, but they don't take up much space. Still, the game is so slow that it is unplayable! Especially when the thunderstorm gets kicking. Then the game reaches literally 0 fps. Until the lightning is over. What causes all of this? Standard Terraria works 60 fps, but not tModLoader. If I hover with the cursor over the mod memory bar, it says the following: Terraria + Misc: 3.0 GB Total: 4.3 GB Installed Memory: 7.9 GB Here are my computer specs: 8 GB DDR3 Ram, Intel Core i7 - 3630QM CPU 2,4 GHz, 1 TB SSD, GPU NVidia GeForce GT 650M And yes, I have used the Nvidia GPU dedicated for tModLoader. I have attached a list over Enabled mods for Terraria.

But they don't take up much space? I mean, shouldn't that rather critical? I'm not too tech savvy, so if I am wrong, please do explain. I do want to know, and learn. Thanks!

The file size of the mod has nothing to do with it's performance It's possible to make a mod with no sprites, and just purposefully bad code that will lag the game, and have the mod be like 5kb The more mods you have, the more things TML is processing every single frame in game, generally

Oooff... okay. Thanks. That sucks big time. So... the only choice I have to ever have it run remotely close to 60 fps is having a better system. FML. Anyway, thanks for your help and explanation. Appriciated.
