If your keyboard is working fine but the nice!view display isn’t showing anything, it doesn’t necessarily mean the display is broken. A few common things to check: 1. Firmware – Make sure you flashed the correct firmware version (with nice!view support). Each board has separate firmware files depending on whether you use displays. You can grab the correct ones here:
- Corne firmware
- Lily58 firmware
2. Installation – Double‑check that the nice!view is seated fully in the headers/sockets and oriented correctly. If pins aren’t fully inserted or are off‑angle, the display won’t power on. 3. Battery & Power – The display only works when the half it’s attached to has power through the battery or USB. If your left half works but the display on the right doesn’t show anything, confirm both halves have their batteries connected and charged. 4. Solder joints (if soldered) – If you used soldered headers/sockets, re‑inspect the joints to ensure they’re clean, with no cold joints or bridges. Even one bad pin can stop the display. If the keyboard itself is fully functional, it’s almost always firmware or connection rather than a dead screen. Try reflashing with the correct display‑enabled firmware first—that resolves most “dead display” reports.
Do you want me to point you directly to the display‑enabled firmware files for your board (Corne or Lily58)?
