every time I want to install a mod it tells me

it could mean that your directory is read-only meaning no new files can be written or moved there so best bet is to just right click -> properties on the folder and see if "read only" is ticked if yes, untick it, apply. it should work after that

Do you use custom install path or moved the folder?

Did you happen to install SMM inside Satisfactory's folder? If so, reinstall it anywhere else. Otherwise, try running SMM as an admin, by right clicking it in the start menu
