Migrating from v1.121 to v1.142: Migration Issue with TrueNAS
Hi everyone,
Let me first thank the devs for the fantastic work they have put into this app - it's impressive.
I have used Immich with TrueNAS and for a while I didn't do upgrades (I just didnt bother as everything has worked well). However I now was going to update to v1.142 and have found issues with the database migration. I expect this as it did not follow the upgrade train, but now I wonder what is the best way to do that since the app was installed with the truenas catalog.
Suggestions?

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.hi got any solution
i am facing the same
will creating a new instance and reattching the datasets work
There are a gazillion topics on this in #help-desk-support , just look for the recent truenas ones 🙂
tried
I'll try to write something in the #truenas channel to explain how everything can be done
I might be able to do that during the week
awsome 😇
I think this would be great do consolidate everything in one place. @Xiticks I'm happy to test if needed.
Yeah, I made people move their install and they're always different setups so I might at least give a good initial path
Perhaps something for later is to remove the option of installing through charts (can we remove it from the catalog?) and have users installing it with Portainer or any other dockerized system in which we can control version upgrades.
Well, that's on TrueNAS side, Immich has no control over that
And having the app option is still ok IMO (as long as people keep the app and TrueNAS up to date)
And you can already install it in a custom way within TrueNAS
That is true
Can you both tell me ( @theXYZ also) which version of TrueNAS you're on and which version of Immich you are/were before the fail of the migration
(I'll try to explain that tomorrow)
Well I'm dumb, it's written for Pedro 😄 (at least for Immich app)
For TrueNAS, You have to be on Fangtooth (25.04) for the "easy" fix to work
I'm on fangtooth: 25.04.2.4
24 the latest... ill check later and let you know. its offline
@Xiticks don't want to be pushy, but I wonder if you have done the post?
I’ll try to do it today or tomorrow max
will probably be tomorrow, I have an issue with my virtualized router
