Builds pending for hours, then failing with no logs

I've had the situation several times that builds are pending for hours and then stall with

Build Failed

Build Failed

and

No logs yet...

No logs yet...

. Re-reunning the build would then often succeed without any change to it. Is there any way to circumvent this?
