immich-go and google takeout

I'm in the process of importing my photos using google takeout and immich-go. I don't think I have enough space for the takeout zips and the library in immich. I might, I just don't know. Does immich dedup any photos or is there a way for immich-go to delete zips as it imports. i read that it likes to have all of the zip files from takeout when importing. Do I have any other import options? I might have to wait and get a nas. damn it.

can you move some files to an external hard drive temporarily to make space? if you get a NAS you would still need to move them to make space

I had the same problem. Loading the individual takeout zips separately was problematic because one zip can contain metadata for files in another zip, and vice versa. The takeouts are created inefficiently in that sense. I ended up buying an external drive large enough to have all the zips together and run the import from there.
