Issues with expo plugin on android

Hello,
I've been using better-auth with expo on ios very successfully on production for the last several months.
I recently started using it on android as well, but I'm seeing a weird behavior that does not happen on iOS.
I have a provider that wraps the better-auth hooks, with the following code:

  const authClient = useAuthClient()
  const session = authClient.useSession()
  const isLoading = session.isPending
  const user = session.data?.user

  console.debug(`???? AUTH SESSION ${JSON.stringify(session)}`)
  ...
}

export function useAuthState() {
  const authClient = useAuthClient()
  const session = authClient.useSession()
  const isLoading = session.isPending
  const user = session.data?.user

  console.debug(`???? AUTH SESSION ${JSON.stringify(session)}`)
  ...
}

And when signing in I'm getting the following console logs:

In particular what is odd is that

isPending

isPending

changes from true to false, but before there's actual session data. So it seems like it's going from

(loading === true) to

logged out

(loading === false and session === null) to

logged in

logged in

(loading === false and session !== null).
This weird state change throws the rest of my logic off and this behavior does not happen on ios.

Any help with this would be appreciated
