Change User ID after reinstall of immich on truenas
Hi@all,
after (successfully?) change to the new Data folder structure immich wouldn't start up again. then i decided to delete and reinstall immich. now it started but it was not finding my photos and videos. i found out, that the User ID has changed although i used the exact same email username and password this time. how to change the user id after reinstall of immich to the old in hope it will find my photos and videos again?

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l
and df -h
).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.Changing the user id would not accomplish anything like that
If you deleted the old database and don't have a backup then your only option is to start again from scratch and reupload everything with the cli
i have a backup in place
Then you'll need to restore that

i don't use docker i use truenas
Then you need to adapt those instructions for truenas
