Trying to get my old character and world back to Modloader to Tmodloader
Is there a way to get my world and character from cloud saves back to 1.4, I tried copying & pasting in to Tmodloader but it doesn't work.

looks like you don't have the .plr and .wld files. You can rename the .wld.bak and .plr.bak files to restore it, but if the .plr and .wld files aren't on the cloud originally, they might be old.

If your world or player is failing to load, you can use the backups to roll back to an earlier working file. See https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader/wiki/Basic-tModLoader-Usage-Guide#world-and-player-backups for more information.
This talks about renaming the file extension
My world deleted stuff for some reason
All the modded stuff are gone when I have calamity on idk whats wrong
Assuming you copied over the .twld, it's possible that the names of tiles changed over the years and might not be recoverable
I don't know how well that mod maintained backwards compatibility
For 8 years ago files
I changed the bak file
Yeah...
Well, actually, they should be pink if it was that
Pink?
If they are just missing, then that suggests the .twld file was missing.
Pink placeholder tiles are made for unloaded content
Hm
I put the the twld in tho
Are you sure it s twld not twld.bak?
Yeah im sure

Its deleted
Pretty sure
The only thing that was missing was a weapon my character had

Well, you can send me the original files from the cloud folder and I can look, but your .twld file looks really small for it to contain modded data, so I'm guessing it just doesn't have it anymore
Plus, you'll want to start a new playthrough anway because modded and Terraria worldgen changed since that many years ago
You won't have all the biomes, like shimmer, or modded biomes added to the mods you were using
Yeah I got a world from me and my friends played. I'll send u the files, do i send them here or dm?
just drag and drop the files here
ill try
oh ok
Yeah, that .twld is pretty much completely empty, doesn't have any tile data in it

Damn how did that happen?
Not sure. But since the actual .wld file wasn't on the cloud, it's likely that the world itself wasn't on the cloud in the first place, or maybe you clicked the button to put it on the cloud and then clicked it again to take it off
When you do that, sometimes the .bak files stay, but that doesn't explain why the other files were pretty much empty
What if I used tedit on it just to see the world would that still break it? Pretty sure I didnt save anything but maybe viewing it broke it
Damn ur right tho no wld file is odd
