A problem with Visual Studio coding
It just keeps deleting the next letter and it's hella annoying(as it's clear in the video)(sorry if the font too small)

press the
insert key on your keyboard
(this is a standard feature in most text editor type applications)

The recent uptick in people not having any idea what the insert key does is kind of impressive.

not even navigation, just switching between insert and replace modes
fun fact, notepad supports it but doesn't have an indicator to tell you what mode you're currently in
i don't think anyone ever presses it in modern day intentionally though
Additionally, it is because you are on "OVERTYPE" mode vs "INSERT" mode (pressing Insert will switch between mode)

ctrl+ for word navigation, deletion, etc.
or hell, even "what's the difference between backspace and del?"Laptops often (usually?) eschew it, and like.
