Something went wrong while restoring your project
Hey everyone! đź‘‹
We ran into this error on October 23 and reached out to support right away, but haven’t heard back yet since 4 days.
Error message:
“Something went wrong while restoring your project.
Your project's data is intact, but your project is inaccessible due to a restoration failure. Database backups for this project can still be accessed here. Please contact support for assistance.”
Has anyone experienced this before or found a workaround? Any help would be really appreciated 🙏

This seems to be a widespread issue. @supabase team - we need urgent attention on this restore failure bug!

did your ticket mention `'product update stuck" as that makes it way to infra people more easily. Feel free to share your ticket number then either i or someone else can try make sure it is in the infra queue

Hi @ibrahim,
Thank you for offering to help! 🙏
I'm considering manually restoring to a new project, but I have some concerns about the complexity and wanted to get your advice first.
My Current Situation:
- Project ID: arhryjwzpufdlournxce
- Plan: Pro (Paid)
- LIVE PRODUCTION APP down since Friday, Oct 24 (72+ hours)
- 111+ active users unable to access the platform
- Real business revenue impact
- Backup file downloaded and intact (21MB SQL dump)
Ticket Status:
- Opened multiple tickets via Dashboard (no ticket numbers received)
- Sent email to support@supabase.com on Oct 24
- Zero response so far
My Concern About Manual Restore:
If I create a new project and manually restore the backup using psql, I'm worried about:
1. Auth configuration - Will user logins still work?
2. RLS policies - Are they included in the backup?
3. Database extensions - Will they be properly configured?
4. Environment variables - Will I need to reconfigure everything?
5. API keys/URLs - Will I need to update all connection strings in my production app?
6. DNS/Domain - How do I handle the switchover without more downtime?
Questions:
- Is it safer to wait for infra team to fix the current project?
- Or should I proceed with manual restore to minimize downtime?
- If I do manual restore, what are the main gotchas I should watch out for?
- How long does infra team typically take for this type of issue?
This is a live production app - I want to minimize downtime for my paying users, but I also don't want to risk data loss or configuration issues by rushing into manual restore.
What would you recommend?
Thank you! 🙏
