How can I make sure all the images are stored on my NAS?

I have a small HP ProMini running proxmox with docker on debian 13, I will obviously install immich on the proxmox node and want to ensure my files (pictures) are stored and access from my NAS which is mounted via SMB at /mnt/nas/immich in debian. I tried changing the UPLOAD_LOCATION and DB_DATA_LOCATION variables to the SMB mount but it seems when i upload images they are still residing on the proxmox node in /library

I added the env variables to both the docker compose yml and env file and used docker compose up -d when in the directory and got the attached

I resolved this by using portainer stacks to create the containers and manually settings the env variables in the stack

Your original problem is that you didnt' rename example.env to .env @t00nj But portainer will work fine too

Aaaah that makes sense, the yaml file couldn’t locate the env file because it wasn’t named correctly. Thanks for that
