Canon PQ HDR HIF images washed out

Tried all the tricks but the webp, png and jpg thumbnail/preview images are all washed out in colors it does not autodevelop the images to use full range of colours. Pictures are from a Canon R7. On the other hand side it seams like MACs are the only ones to display those images resonably well when opening them in preview or Photos app. Has anyone made the same experience? Are there any plans to implement some colorcorrection and autoadjust for 10/12/16 per channel images.

it's an upstream issue with libvips: https://github.com/libvips/libvips/issues/3912 but I made a PR trying to solve this. it would require another change in Immich as well tho basically your HEIF file signals HDR via the nclx tag, which says this is a BT.2100 PQ file. however libvips ignores the nclx tag, so it doesn't know anything about the colorspace your file is in
