[Resolved] Stream Deck not detected anymore after reboot
Edit: Solved by using another USB port. See https://discord.com/channels/1143819637897834571/1437420082044207164/1437909229246877797

When I installed my desktop computed, I decided I would be smart and used a UBS-to-UBS lengthener (Not sure if it's the word in english) to which I then plugged a small USB hub which is plugged under my desk so I don't need to go all the way behind the case to plug USB.
But maybe the cable/hub is too low quality or the power draw of the deck is too much, I don't know.
It was only the Deck and my webcam on the hub and the webcam always worked no problem.
Right now I did a quick try by plugging the deck to the front panel and it works properly. I guess I'm gonna plug it "for real" behind the case instead of relying on the hub....

So this started happening after you updated to 2.7.0? What version were you on before?
I understood it like its a new install. Not update.
Oh
Yeah, sorry, I wasn't clear enough.
It's a fresh install indeed. Never used it before
I'm trying Stream Controller to make sure and it doesn't detect my Stream Deck anymore.
I installed their udev rules like suggested but no Deck found either even after a reboot.
hmm... weird - have you added yourself to the
plugdev user group?
although if the device was usable before that shouldnt be an issue...I'm in the
plugdev group indeed
Do you have any idea what I could do to try and debug whatever the issue may be? Some logs or commands beyond lsusb?
I don't see the Deck in lsusb anymore but my attempt with StreamController may have broken somethingoh
that's not a great sign
lsusb should report all usb devices, regardless of udev rules / permissions / which apps are using it
do you have another computer to test the stream deck on?
Nevermind it is there indeed, grep is more reliable than my eyes. 😅
I'm gonna uninstall Streamcontroller and reinstall opendeck to see if something changes
I get a lot of
Bus 005 Device 079: ID 0fd9:0063 Elgato Systems GmbH Stream Deck Mini
I haven't yet rebooted the computer after re-installing opendeck, thoughudev rule is properly applied?
How can I check that?
is the rule files in the right directory? And then best would be to restart. I am not sure if there is a way to see if its applied tho
Seems so, yeah

I have a suspicion this file was somehow removed from my system. It wasn't in the folder when I checked streamcontroller's file
you shouldn't have both files at the same time, I don't think
Just rebooted the computer and the udev file is still here but the Deck isn't recognized and keeps blinking every 2s
During the reboot I noticed I was getting an error like
ERROR: device descriptor read/64, error -32. 🤔
Ok, looking at /var/log/syslog I notice the following block looping infinitely
I'm gonna try another USB port, just in case
Ok it works
So much time wasted, I don't know why I didn't try that earlierno worries. What kind of USB did you try before and which one works now?

ah. yeah. We have a lot of Hubs which are behaving strangly with things like streamdecks. Please mark this issue as resolved.
Is the emoji enough? Is there a command I need to use?
if you are on pc, rightclick the message, then "apps" and then "mark solution".
Don't know why the bot didn't send the instructions in this chat.
thx
It did but I dismissed it and I don't remember what it said 😅
oh ok.
