Can't join steam friend if inventory is too full
Specifically: if it is too full then the joining process will time out and display the lost connection screen. Sometimes the lost connection screen will not have a close button, but that seems like a different issue.
I have chosen to attach the player files (plr & tplr). Additionally, below is a link to the modpack folder we are using. The modpack is imported locally.

When I say inventory I mean the 5x10 grid that comprises the player inventory as well as all gear slots. All player storages (eg. the safe) are empty. There are not a substantial amount of extra gear slots compared to vanilla, it should only be one additional accessory slot from Infernum and the wing slot from that one mod that gives you a slot specifically for wings.
I am aware Infernum is not inherently compatible with multiplayer. I have done my best to include mods that let it play better with multiplayer, using the mod pack Infernal Eclipse of Ragnarok as reference for the mods to use.
When I say my inventory is x% full, I am referring to the amount of slots occupied in the lower 4x10 inventory slots the player has, so the hotbar is excluded from the measurement and is always full. So, 1/4 full would be 10 occupied slots.
There is no error in the client log at the point of timeout that I could see.
I have historically been able to join my friend without issue with a full inventory + player storages. This is a recently developed issue.
We've been playing on this world for the past 1-2 weeks.
No mods have been changed: both my friend and I are using the exact same mod pack file, imported locally so the mod versions can't change.
The holdup causing the timeout specifically occurs during these phases:
The issue is sort of a gradient:
Character can be loaded in single player without issue.
The issue does not seem to be caused by any specific item(s).
After requesting a copy of the world, loading into it it has blocks from some mods missing. I'm unsure what blocks from what mods are affected, and this could very well be normal behavior.
Joining is more likely to fail in the event I move items to a player storage, even with the same number of items.

- Syncing mods
- Requesting world information (only happened once)
The issue is sort of a gradient:
- If my inventory is empty I can join without issues.
- If my inventory is between 1/4 to 1/3 of the way full it's a gamble on whether or not I'll be able to join.
- If my inventory is above that, the issue occurs.
