Unknown shopify customer IDs
Hi all, just a general question. One of my apps here on gadgets have global actions that gets called from checkout and customer accounts, e.g. to register them as a member or get latest information from 3rd party API.
Lately we have this strange occurrences where when the customer ID is passed through from checkout, it's completely unknown to the Shopify store that the call is coming from. The format etc is exactly the same, so 100% a shopify customer ID - however it looks like it comes from a different Shopify store. All the other info, like customer name, email matches what's registered in the merchant's store.
The store/merchant has recently activated Shopify Payments, but don't use Shop Pay.
However, I still think Shopify Payments / Shop Pay has something to do with it.. Just from using Shop Pay as a customer myself, as soon as I got to another shopify checkout I have all my details where ever I go..
So is it plausible that Shopify's checkout sending me a shopify ID from a store where the customer first became a customer?
This has only started to happen quite recently.

Hello,
Have you been logging the customer id that's set on the session record? That would tell you what Shopify is sending in the Shopify session token and confirm or deny if this is a Shopify issue
