Removed photo from album on web but appear again

Hi everyone,

My setup is docker and working good when upload directly from laptop on web page.
I'm use the latest version on docker and on my phone (play store).
I'm using nginx proxy manager as reverse proxy for internal and external acess.

Well, i've selected all album to sync on phone (android) on app immich.
I'm waiting for sync finished and appear all album present on my phone (whattsapp images, camera,...) on web page. Directly on web page with my laptop create new album, for example "me" and starting to add photo from album "camera", created by app on my phone, to my new album "my".
After to add to album "me", i've selected again the photo and "removed from album" camera. Nice working fine

After few minutes, refreshing the web page and photo on album "camera" appear again :-(.

I'm doing anything wrong? Configuration is wrong? The photos appear again because existing on phone on folder "camera" and i've move it to album "me" on web page?

I see the same behavior. I assume it's when your phone re-syncs in the background that it gets re-added to the album. Asking to see if intended or not

I'm trying to close app on phone and the photo it's not added again on album "camera". But when open the app, photos appeared again on album "camera" on web page and existing on album "my".
Maybe i'm doing anything wrong.

Yes, when the phone does a re-sync with the server, the asset gets added again to the "phone" album, this is the behavior I am seeing

Ok, but on syncing phone to the server, the server know the photo it's moved to other album, i think so. And on this case, the photo don't will add again on album "phone" ? Maybe my thinking is wrong.

I think he is just saying if the photo exist in Immich then Immich should not reupload from the phone.

Sorry, the IMMICH server knows that the photo was moved to another album. In this case, when the phone syncs again, the photo should not reappear in the original album, but in the album it was moved to. I think that should be the normal behaviour, or maybe I’m wrong and the correct behaviour is what’s happening now — the image showing up again in the ‘Phone’ album.

It's not re-uploaded per say. It's re-synced to the local album.
But I agree, I would assume it shouldn't be re-added, just not how it works currently

If I move 100k photos to a folder and immich resyncs those back into the main folder that seems like a bug more than a feature. So since I just started this app I will not be moving photo's to folders.

My wife is a food influencer. She takes a lot of content of food. I want to move those to a folder so it's outside of my family photo's. If they are added back to the main feed, half the album becomes food. I'd like to avoid that. It seems a toggle for this would be nice so people have the option. I can see where I would want to keep some photos in both and some in only the album. I'm sure the devs will think of something.

What do you mean folder? You can't hide items from the main timeline using an album.

On github, the topic is closed. I believe don't read all things on discord... i'm continu thinking it's no sense sync again the photo on same album when it's moved to other album.

We had some discussion around it and as already said, we have both sides. The current behaviour is the intended one. There were ideas to solve this issue via workflows when they are finally released. Then users can build their own preferred solution. But since workflows are not done yet I can't tell if they will be able to solve your issue.
