advanced search not finding tag
I'm new to Immich and hoping someone can help me. I'm running 2.3.1 through docker. Everything seems to be running properly but I'm running into a problem with tags.
I have a bunch of hierarchical tags that I later realized really should be under the same root tag. I though I would be able to edit th tag to prepend the new root tag but tha'ts not possible through the UI since editing a tag only allows you to chang the color.
I next turned to browsing the tag tree and though I would go the tag, select all the images, add then delete the old tag but it doesn't seem possible to add tags in batch from there. Really it doesn't seem possibl to do much of anything batch related there.
So, next I tried an advanced search to find the tag that neede changing where I could select all the images and then add the new tags. This looked promising but sometimes, it's not finding all the images with the tag (verified by comparing the set of images returned by the search with the set of images returned by browsing the tag tree.
I thought perhaps the search index needed to be rebuilt to I went to administration / jobs / smart search / all to rebuil tthe index but that didn't make any difference.
I've run out of ideas. Is there any way to make that search return the right result? Right now I'm having to verify everything one by one and that's both tedious and error prone so I'm hoping I can find a better solution. Right now, it's looking like I can trust searches and that's got me wondering if this may not be the right tool for this project. I'm hoping that there is a simple way to get the search working properly.
