Using Cloudflare Vite plugin vs Nitro for deploying to Cloudflare

Nitro's documentation says it supports deploying to Cloudflare and Netflix among others: https://v3.nitro.build/deploy#zero-config-providers

Then what's the difference between using Nitro and using CF/NF-specific Vite plugins?

They're implemented in different ways. With Cloudflare the biggest difference is that the Vite plugin runs local dev inside Miniflare, meaning that it's the same runtime used by real Workers. This is a more realistic dev environment than without it, which runs an emulated version in Node
