Sharing facial recognition

Following other questions on sharing facial detection and recognition in the family, particularly the issues and wished functionality similar to what was described here:

What is a possible workaround to be used currently? I'm migrating the existing library into Immich and so 100% of the photos are now on the external library. I don't mind re-scanning and re-running the ML stack on the entire library - should I add the external library separately on each user and so I will have facial recognition on it? Is there a downside to doing this?
