Immich stops loading in browser after scrolling through the timeline

In the last month or so, after coming back from my holiday, about 2000 images were uploaded to my immich setup. As i start scrolling through the timeline view, eventually Immich stops loading new thumbnails of images, and adding if selecting an image (loaded or blurred) and adding to an album, it cannot enumerate the list of albums either. The whole thing locks up, and takes 10minutes to recover, after which I can repro it again if i scroll through a lot of images. The setup has been stable for over a year and I update every few versions. Eventually the page gives me a HTTP ERROR 502

All my libs are external libraries that are on TrueNAS via NFS share.
