Recommended update path from 2.0.0 to 2.4.1?

Hi,
What is the recommended update path from 2.0.0 to 2.4.1? Any intermediate versions i should not skip, or can i go to 2.4.1 directly?
I noticed the callout on 2.3.1 "We encourage all users to update to this version to avoid the issue that will happen when the next minor update is available, i.e., v2.4.0". It is unclear to me if i have to go to this version first before continuing to 2.4.1?
