Auth emails delayed (5–10 mins) using Supabase built-in email service

Hi, I’m using Supabase Auth with the built-in email provider for sign-up confirmation and password reset emails. I’m consistently seeing significant delivery delays — emails arrive after 5–10 minutes, sometimes even longer.
Details: • Supabase project region: US East (Ohio) • Users located in: India • Issue happens for both sign-up and reset password flows • Emails do eventually arrive (no auth errors)
I wanted to clarify: Are such delays expected behavior with the default/shared email service? Is this due to queueing, IP reputation, or regional factors? Is using a custom SMTP (Resend / SES / Postmark) the recommended solution for production apps? Are there any plans to improve real-time delivery for the built-in provider? I’m trying to decide whether to immediately switch to a custom SMTP or if there are best practices to improve delivery with the default setup.
