Transpile my own programming language into C#

Hello everyone,
I would like to transpile my own very simple programming language to C#. As far as I can see, this should be possible using the Roslyn compiler. (https://github.com/dotnet/roslyn/blob/main/docs/features/incremental-generators.cookbook.md#additional-file-transformation)
Unfortunately, the section is a little too short for me to understand.
Is there any further documentation or perhaps even an example of a similar project?
As far as I can tell, I also need to create a “grammar” file (.g4), which is then required by the Roslyn compiler for conversion. Does anyone know of any good documentation on how to create the corresponding grammar file?
