Start + Supabase auth

Hi everyone. I’m a beginner who built an app with TanStack Start + Supabase Auth. Everything is working correctly, however I have the feeling it’s not done the right way.

Every time I navigate from one route to another, I see two requests in the Network tab to validate the user.

Right now I have this in my __root:

beforeLoad: async () => {
  const user = await getUserServerFn()
  return { user }
}

beforeLoad: async () => {
  const user = await getUserServerFn()
  return { user }
}

And in my authed routes:

beforeLoad: async ({ context, location }) => {
  if (!context.user) {
    throw redirect({ to: '/login', search: { redirect: location.href } })
  }
},
loader: async () => {
  const me = await getMeServerFn()
  return { me }
}

beforeLoad: async ({ context, location }) => {
  if (!context.user) {
    throw redirect({ to: '/login', search: { redirect: location.href } })
  }
},
loader: async () => {
  const me = await getMeServerFn()
  return { me }
}

In getMeServerFn I need to have the user. I tried using the one from context, but if I refresh the page I get an error. So inside getMeServerFn I call getUserServerFn again, which doesn’t make sense to me.

From me I also get the tenantId, so I need it as well to decide in advance which data to show.

Could anyone help me out? What would be the correct pattern for all of this? Thanks!
