Default table filter in combination with tabs

I have a resource list with multiple tabs and different filters as well. I also have one default filter, but it makes no sense to use it on one of the tabs. Is it possible to declare the default only for specific tabs or in this case even better use it everywhere BUT in one specific tab?
I tried a callback in the default method, but I does not seem to work.
