How do we provide read only DB access to a contractor

🔢DB ConnectionsRLS
We want to provide read only DB access (ideally to a read-only replica) to a contractor. They need to sync data in our Supabase tables with a 3rd party system. How do we best accomplish this?

Right now we are thinking of creating a new DB user that is granted SELECT access. Is this the best approach? Can the access be limited to the read-only replica, or will they always need to have the same access on the master DB?

Any help appreciated.
