Good news and bad news:
Good news: The <group i want> IS connected! Doctor shows it's linked: xxxxxxxxxx@g.us โ that's the group.
Bad news: The WhatsApp plugin is receiving group messages, but it's not detecting mentions within them. The logs show "wasMentioned":false even though you <namechosen>'d me.
This is a plugin limitation โ it's receiving the messages but the mention detection isn't wired up for groups properly.
This needs either:
1. A WhatsApp plugin configuration change to enable group mention parsing
2. A plugin update to fix group mention detection
3. Or maybe a workaround in how the mention string is being parsed
This is beyond what I can fix with just config. You might need to:
- Check the WhatsApp plugin docs for group mention handling
- Run clawdbot plugins info whatsapp to see available options
- Or file an issue if this is a plugin bug

Replace
The regexes are case-insensitive and match both
v2026.1.10 included: "WhatsApp: detect @lid mentions in groups using authDir reverse mapping + resolve self JID E.164 for mention gating" โ make sure you're on a recent version.
From the docs: "When you send an image with ONLY a mention (no other text), WhatsApp sometimes doesn't include the mention metadata." This is a WhatsApp API limitation, not a Clawdbot bug.
