Cannot Detect .NET 8.0 on Linux

I've recently switched from Windows 8.1 to Ubuntu 25.04, and want to make a mod for 1.4.4.
I went and installed .NET 8.0 according to the instructions provided in the developer's guide, but tModLoader doesn't detect it installed, despite confirming that I indeed install it, and I restarted both tModLoader and my PC to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
