memory config error?

Clawdbot stopped "remembering" things after upgrading to 2026.1.24-3, memory status shows error:

$ clawdbot memory status

Do I need to change some defaults?

Hey Brian!

Same issue - semantic memory search needs an API key, but basic memory (Markdown files) works fine.

Quick fix: Add an OpenAI or Gemini API key for embeddings, OR disable semantic search:

  agents: {
    defaults: {
      memorySearch: {
        enabled: false
      }
    }
  }
}

{
  agents: {
    defaults: {
      memorySearch: {
        enabled: false
      }
    }
  }
}

If you just want Clawdbot to remember things you tell it → disable semantic search, no key needed.
