Session store lock contention with multiple concurrent channels
Current behavior:
When multiple channels are active simultaneously (Telegram + webchat + hooks), they all compete for the same session store lock (sessions.json.lock). This causes intermittent failures:
Messages get dropped (especially on Telegram) when the lock times out.
Desired behavior:
Either:
1. Per-channel session stores — each channel writes to its own session file, eliminating cross-channel lock contention
2. Database-backed sessions — SQLite with WAL mode handles concurrent access natively
3. In-memory session management — keep sessions in memory, async flush to disk, no blocking locks
4. Better lock handling — shorter timeouts with automatic retry, or non-blocking queued writes
Reproduction:
- Have Telegram bot + webchat + Gmail hooks all active
- Send messages from multiple channels around the same time
- Telegram handler fails with lock timeout
Workaround:
Periodically rm ~/.clawdbot/agents/main/sessions/*.lock — but this is hacky and doesn't prevent the race.
