Hello! I was hoping to get some insight into issues I've been having with dead columns on my Corne. I've been using a standard Corne build from Typeractive for over a year without issue (FR4 plates, nice!nanos, nice!views). These survived a good deal of travel and heavy use -- never had any problems.
About 3 months ago, I upgraded to a (typeractive) aluminum case, and all has been well until last week when the rightmost column on my left board suddenly started mapping to the first four columns (keypress "6" would type "`123", "Y" would type "<tab>qwe", etc). I swapped the nano out for the one I had on my right board, and things began working as usual, so I figured this was a one off n!n issue. I swapped in a new n!n and things were fixed, until today.
Today, that same column on the left split stopped working altogether (keypresses do nothing). I replaced that left split with a different Corne (which also has a n!n) to test, and during that testing the 4th column on my right split stopped working (keypresses also now do nothing). Both affected columns are highlighted in the image.
I've yet to do any further testing for shorts or PCB issues, but as mentioned everything has been working fine for over a year. My nanos do appear to be permanently affected; if I test them out on boards that I know are behaving, they bring the dead columns with them. Does this sound like a particular issue? Am I just frying my nanos? I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with my corne lately, so I'm at a loss for what's happening here (and I appear to be down 3 nice!nanos in the span of a week).
