Proxmox (Openclaw + Ollama) + Discord - gateway & message errors
I’m trying to get OpenClaw 2026.2.1 working with a local Ollama backend (and optionally LM Studio) and I keep hitting a runtime crash:
Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'includes')
This happens for every agent run (CLI + Discord), even though the config validates and the model provider is reachable.
I’d love help confirming whether this is a known 2026.2.1 runtime bug (maybe related to the calculateCost / compaction issues) and how to either work around it or get better diagnostics.
Setup:
Proxmox host on my LAN, Runs Ollama, serving models.
LXC container for OpenClaw/Clawdbot, Gateway bound to local, Discord plugin enabled, bot logs in as @ClawdBot and shows Discord: ok in openclaw doctor.
Symptoms:
CLI agent always crashes:
>> openclaw agent --agent main --message "What is 2+2?"
>> # ...
>> Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'includes')
This happens immediately after the agent embedded run starts/ends in the logs—no tokens, no model call visible.
Discord DM behavior:
Bot logs in fine and shows as online.
Typing indicator appears for a while, then stops, and no reply is ever sent.
Logs show the agent embedded run start/end and then the same includes error, no outbound message event.
Provider reachability is fine, the container can talk to both local Ollama and LM Studio over the LAN.
Things I’ve already tried (over many hours)
- Validated all model definitions
- Tried adding “placeholder” fields (experiment)
- Attempted to toggle compaction off
- Swapped the provider to LM Studio as a test
- Increased logging
- Worked around it externally with a direct Ollama script - works great, but i want openclaw.
