How do I properly add a new provider and model in OpenClaw?
Hi, I’m trying to add a new provider and model (Upstage AI – solar-pro3) into OpenClaw.
I added the provider and model into my openclaw.json, but nothing happens.
OpenClaw keeps falling back to the previous model every time.
Even though I tested it with a sub‑agent and the model works correctly.
So my question is:
How do I correctly add a new provider + model so OpenClaw actually uses it as the primary model?
And why does OpenClaw ignore the provider I added in openclaw.json and revert to the old one?
Here’s what I did:
Added Upstage provider + model in openclaw.json
Set the model using:
openclaw models set upstage/solar-pro3
Sub‑agent can call the model successfully
But the main agent still falls back to the previous model
What am I missing?
