At wits end about to delete it all, what am I doing wrong?
My first experience was amazing, totally blew me away. Installed simply, onboarding was easy and it ran right away and within a couple of hours I had all sorts of stuff working. Totally sold me on it. I used OpenAI codex. Then, I thought I’d try to get my pc connected to it and when it started on that it totally blew up. Destroyed itself to the extent that after a couple of hours trying to correct it with ChatGPT I was going in circles so decided on a clean install. Since then I have barely been able to get it to work. It runs for a bit then I get errors, gateways die, messages get lost, agents don’t ‘think’ properly, and now I am on my 4th or 5th ‘clean’ attempt and I can’t even get it to run once. I must have spent easily 3 full days doing installs, configures, debugging and getting nowhere.
Where I am today is a MacBook Pro m4, up to date system. Have created a new user so totally clean, done local installs into that user, and now I am gettinng endless problems with picking the model for the very first run. I want OpenAI 5.2 or 5.3 but I get ‘thinking model not supported or something like that for whatever I pick’. I just want one model for now, just one, and I just want it to run for 6 or so hours without dying, that is all I want, and cannot even come close. With chatgpts’ help I can get some parts to work, then I get a message telling me to run doctor fix and then it blows away whatever I have spent hours putting in place and have to start again. I never ever want to see anthropic as my model but it always gets back to that after some time.
How do I solve this or is it time to just give up? What is the full name of a new OpenAI model that will work in the initial run?
Is everyone else having it work fine ? Is it just me? What am I doing wrong ? Has it got measurably worse in the last week for everyone else ? For instance do hooks work for you now? Doesn’t seem that they are in the install package and some docs are missing and so on.
