How do i troubleshoot Visual Studio SSMS issues?

I'm trying to connect my database with Server Explorer cause i don't like manually typing my connection string, and in school it works, but for some reason when i try at home Add Connection works but it doesnt see the database's tables and in the Server Explorer when i try to look in the Tables folder its empty, and so is every other folder in the .dbo except Assemblies. I tried trusting server certificate since that was the problem last time but after about 6 months of not opening visual studio this problem popped up and ChatGPT has no idea what the problem is
