TypedStruct customize storage

I'm migrating some old code into ash and working with a jsonb field that has a bunch of existing data in it, so I have to be able to work with the existing data format at the database level. The json keys are all camel case, and I'd like to convert that to snake case when working with it in elixir land. so currently what I have is

defmodule MyFieldType do
  use Ash.TypedStruct

  typed_struct do
    field :someData, :integer, allow_nil?: false
    field :someMoreData, :string, allow_nil?: false
  end
end

defmodule MyFieldType do
  use Ash.TypedStruct

  typed_struct do
    field :someData, :integer, allow_nil?: false
    field :someMoreData, :string, allow_nil?: false
  end
end

but I'd like to be able to do

defmodule MyFieldType do
  use Ash.TypedStruct

  typed_struct do
    field :some_data, :integer, allow_nil?: false
    field :some_more_data, :string, allow_nil?: false
  end
end

defmodule MyFieldType do
  use Ash.TypedStruct

  typed_struct do
    field :some_data, :integer, allow_nil?: false
    field :some_more_data, :string, allow_nil?: false
  end
end

and manage to convert to/from camel case when storing/loading to the database. Is it possible to override stuff like this on a TypedStruct?

Solution

You should be able to override callbacks like

def dump_to_native

def dump_to_native

and

def cast_stored

def cast_stored

to do that

You should be able to override callbacks like
