Persisting data parts

How can I persist data parts so that .recall can include them in it's messages?
I'm running an agent with a sub agent (called via a tool) and a sub workflow. When streaming they return data-* parts (including custom ones I'm creating with writer.custom) but after refreshing and loading the chat from history these data parts no longer exist. I am on the latest version of mastra.
