remote Gateway + MacBook Chrome
Current state:
- Gateway 2026.2.3 on AWS
- MacBook node host connected via SSH tunnel (port 18790)
- Node shows as "paired · connected" with caps "browser, system"
- Chrome extension attached (badge ON)
Problem:
Gateway cannot access browser through node. Commands like "openclaw browser --browser-profile chrome tabs" return "no tab connected" even though node is connected and extension is attached.
What works:
- Node connection:
(openclaw nodes status shows connected)
- Device pairing: (openclaw devices list shows approved)
- SSH tunnel: (curl http://localhost:18790/ returns OK)
What doesn't work:
- Browser proxy from Gateway to node
- Agent browser tool calls don't route to MacBook Chrome
Question:
Is there a specific config needed to enable node browser proxy? The docs say "zero-config default" but it's not working. Do we need to set nodeHost.browserProxy.enabled or gateway.nodes.browser.mode?
Logs show node connected but browser tool still looks for local relay (127.0.0.1:18792) instead of routing through node.
