Telegram messages are delayed compared to web ui when using tools

When I ask the bot to do some task (like run a script or read a file), often the messages on telegram are heavily delayed as compared to the web ui. From testing, often when it uses tools, the web UI loads the messages instantly, but telegram messages are only sent when it has finished using tools.
I cannot find a way to change this behaviour in the config or docs. Is this configurable?

Solution
This is expected with the default “external surfaces get the final reply” behavior.
The web UI can show in-progress events (tool calls, streaming deltas, etc.) immediately, but Telegram will often only show something once the assistant has actual text to send (and by default it sends that at the end of the turn).
You can change it, with two different knobs:

2) Block streaming (real Telegram messages, works in groups too)
