OpenClaw 10–15 min delays + weird failover behavior (MiniMax → Claude → Qwen → Kimi)
Hey guys, I need help debugging my OpenClaw setup.
Setup
OpenClaw 2026.2.12
Running on VPS (Ubuntu, Node 22)
Telegram channel connected
Primary model: was ollama/minimax-m2.5:cloud
Fallbacks: openai-codex/gpt-5.2, moonshot/kimi-k2.5, ollama/qwen2.5:3b
Problem
Replies sometimes take 10–15 minutes.
From logs I can see:
MiniMax → HTTP 500 (timeout)
Claude → 429 rate limit
Qwen → hangs
600000ms timeout (10 minutes)
Eventually falls back to Kimi
Example log:
embedded run timeout: timeoutMs=600000
FailoverError: HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
HTTP 429 rate_limit_error
So it looks like it's cascading through all providers before finally succeeding.
Questions
Why is the failover timeout set to 600000ms (10 minutes)?
How can I lower per-model timeout?
Should I remove all fallbacks to avoid cascade delay?
Does switching primary mid-session cause instability?
Everything works — just the delay is insane.
Would appreciate guidance from anyone running multi-provider setups
