OpenClaw Local Mode Always Returns “502 Failed to authenticate request with Clerk”
When running OpenClaw locally with external model providers (e.g., OpenRouter / Kimi K2.5 and others), every agent call returns:
502 Failed to authenticate request with Clerk
Tried troubleshooting with Opus and ChatGPT 5.2. According to ChatGPT, this happens even though:
Gateway is running in local mode
The correct model is shown in the logs
Providers are marked as configured
It appears that agent execution is still attempting to use Clerk (hosted auth) despite being set up for local provider usage.
