Is OpenClaw the right tool for my use case?
I'm planning to convert an old laptop with relatively poor specs into a box on which I will run OpenClaw (or a similar agentic tool) full-time.
My main use case is getting it to passively research stuff like job postings and pathways constantly - setting up automatic scans, and when those scans fire, processing the information, doing some research on the company, and then sending that information to me over Discord. On top of this, I want it to autonomously search for general information regarding specific companies. My secondary use case is getting it to draft Discord messages when I'm AFK and don't have time to respond.
The laptop's specs are very poor: 16GB RAM, 8GB VRAM (integrated graphics), i5 core, 256GB storage. I want to host locally. I'll run Linux to free up some RAM. I'm not too worried about it being slow because this is the sort of thing I envision running in the background.
Is OpenClaw the right tool to use for this? If so, what model should I use?
