Similar to this (help forum), I would like to create a forum assistant using openclaw.
I already created the forum channel in my server, I would like to set up openclaw so it answers users inside the forum. Is it possible setting up like a documentation so my openclaw bot answers using it, else if the documentation doesn't answer the question, to ping me in the forum thread?

For an OpenClaw “forum assistant” style bot, I’d start with
- Lightweight built-in “RAG-ish” retrieval for small curated notes by keeping content as Markdown in the workspace and letting OpenClaw’s memory search retrieve relevant chunks (vector/BM25 hybrid). Docs: https://docs.openclaw.ai/concepts/memory
- This is great for a small KB / FAQ / policies you maintain.
- It’s not the same as “full enterprise RAG over thousands of docs”, but it covers a lot.

When I’d actually do full RAG
Use “real RAG” (external embeddings + vector DB + your own retrieval tool) when:- your documentation is large (hundreds/thousands of pages),
- you need private/internal docs (can’t just

For Discord forum channels specifically
Discord forum posts are threads, and OpenClaw routes threads as channel sessions (and they inherit parent channel config). So usually you allowlist the forum channel, and the bot can reply inside each post thread. Docs (thread behavior section): https://docs.openclaw.ai/channels/discord
