Solution

Yep — that’s exactly what we wanted to see. If it only prints the PATH line and doesn’t immediately say

, it means the node host connected and is now running (it just sits there in the foreground waiting for work).

Two quick ways to confirm:

openclaw nodes list

openclaw nodes status

You should see “MacBook Air Node” as online.

Leave it running; in another terminal on the gateway, try a simple invoke (or just trigger a tool that uses

system.which

system.run

once you’ve pointed exec to that node).

Also: this explains the earlier confusion — putting the token in a

.env

.env

file doesn’t automatically export it into the current shell. Using

export OPENCLAW_GATEWAY_TOKEN=...

export OPENCLAW_GATEWAY_TOKEN=...

(or the inline one-liner) guarantees the node process gets it.
