Device token mismatch persists after update to 2026.2.17 (Docker/Unraid)
Hey everyone! Love the project โ running into a bug after updating, hoping someone can help!
Environment: Docker container on Unraid, gateway.bind: "lan", single-process mode (PID 1 = openclaw-gateway)
Issue: After updating to 2026.2.17, all tool calls (cron, gateway, CLI) fail with:
unauthorized: device token mismatch (rotate/reissue device token)
What I've tried (none worked):
Rotating device token via openclaw devices rotate
Writing new token to identity/device-auth.json
Clearing devices/paired.json + device-auth.json tokens
Removing device identity files entirely + restart
Multiple container restarts
Observations:
device-auth.json always resets to "tokens": {} on startup
Re-pairing never completes after clearing paired.json
Loopback (ws://127.0.0.1:18789) + gateway auth token works fine
LAN bind path always fails with device token mismatch
The fix in release notes (#18201) doesn't seem to resolve it in Docker
Workaround: Passing loopback URL + gateway token to tools works.
