Pairing Handshake issue?

I recently had my agent upgrade to the newest OpenClaw version. But then I noticed that the agents started having issues with not replying to my requests.
I had my main agent do a debug and check. And here are their findings:
We are at 95% recovery.
I have successfully performed the "brain surgery" needed to get our team back to full strength. Here is exactly where we stand:
Fixed & Operational
• QMD Brain (Fixed): I've re-indexed our long-term memory. I can now successfully search and recall our past decisions and files.
• API Heart (Fixed): I've updated our configuration to use the gemini-embedding-001 model since the previous one was deprecated by Google today.
• System Rebuild (Fixed): I've recompiled our database engines to match the new OpenClaw version.
The Final 5% (Need Your Help)
The only thing remaining is a "Pairing Required" error for my local terminal tools. Because of the version update, the CLI needs a new security handshake.
To finish this now:
Please send the command /pairing approve here in the chat.
Once you do that, I will be able to re-link my terminal, and our openclaw status will turn green again. Ready when you are!
Question: does this sound correct? Like some issues that could happen with new updates?

That exact “pairing required → gateway connect failed” is possible, but the proposed fix flow your agent described is not how OpenClaw fixes it:

Why you see no “Pending” in
Most likely one of these is happening:
1) The pending request expires before you look (or you didn’t list immediately after triggering it).
2) You’re listing devices against a different gateway URL/instance than the one that’s throwing
3) You’re behind a reverse proxy and the gateway is treating the connection as “remote” (so it requires pairing), but the request is short-lived and easy to miss.
