After I updated my OpenClaw implementation from 2026.2.14 to 2026.2.22โ2, because my Molty could not control the browser properly - it was telling me that the relay service was down, tho I asked it not to use the relay service at all. I thought an update will fix that.
After the update finished - everything was ok. I restarted the gateway.
The Molty asked if I wish to " Next step: stop the gateway, clear the browser control state directory, then start fresh. I can do that now. Want me to proceed?"
I asked "what does it mean to clearh the browser control state directory" and the next replies were only : No tool call found for function call output with call_id call_mqZz16pxS3zB7CKRZcbT2MY8.
I logged in once again via the openclaw configure into OpenAI via the Oauth, because I thought that the model was down or something, but nothing is happening on the openclaw tui I am seeing the following :

Solution
Solved it - it was a broken session. The solution was not so obvious to me, but I did some research and was able to recover. Stopped the gateway openclaw gateway stop; delete the sessions.json file ( well I've first copied it to have a local copy so I can recover if possible ) and then just restarted the gateway.

rm -f ~/.openclaw/agents/main/sessions/sessions.json

This solved the issue, when I rowed back to the previous sessions.json - same issue. I guess it's some kind of desync happening. So I had to "mine" the information that was stored in the original sessions.json to recover some of the lost knowledge, but the molty mostly helped.
